On January 3, 2001, Li scored 59 points in a game for the Chinese Basketball Association’s Bayi Rockets, leading them to victory over the Shanghai Sharks. He was 12-17 from being the three-point line and 9-9 from the free throw line, and grabbed six boards and blocked two shots.
